My 2 yr old Grandson had so much fun. I can't wait to go back again.
The curator is very friendly, immediately greeting visitors as they enter the main building. There are many interesting exhibits and a very large topographical tabletop map in the center of the room of Turner Falls region. Outside trails lead to the Dam and interesting rock cliffs and river beds below the Dam. The old paper mill with its tall smoke stack can be seen downstream.
we visited the discovery center at my school. It was fun. I am going to take my little sister. Everything was so realistic. I suggest that you should go. All of my classmates really liked it. I want to ask my teacher if we can go again. I bet my sister would really like. I am a teenager and i liked so much. it is small but it has alot of info. the people there were really nice. they had a little store. me and my bestie bought 2 coloring books.
I just can't believe this place is free. It's a great place to bring the kids. Be sure to check out their events!
This is a great place to learn the history and conservation of the Connecticut river. There are great activities for children to participate in and learn as well. The area also has a river walk that leads toward Barton Cove. Best of all the center is free.
